3 Ways to Make Mother’s Day Special
Mom’s, for most of us, really made us who we are. They gave us life and taught us how to live. My mom is special because she adopted my sister and I and as a result, we both feel she loves us even more because she CHOSE us. If your mom is deceased, find another mom and ‘adopt’ her. You will be better for the effort. Here are 3 ways to make mom`s day special.
1) Give the gift of time. Carve out a day for just the two of you. Take her shopping, eating, for a walk in the park or to a movie. Hold her hand when you walk. Tell her you love her not just with words but with the most valuable and rare thing you have to offer, your time. My mom in the USA will get a long phone call from her son.
2) Write her a love letter. Take an hour and compose a beautiful love letter full of poetry and passion. Be very specific about WHY you love her and the things you remember she did for you.
3) Celebrate with the ‘other’ mothers in your life. As a father, I now have three mothers: mom, my wife (mother of our two) and my wife’s mom. The later two will enjoy a feast out of the home and my wife will get some ‘vouchers’ for massage and time alone and I will watch the kids.
Just 3 ideas that cost little to nothing but speak volumes about the love you have for that special woman or women in your life.
