6 Steps to Success in Life

Success is not a journey or a destination. Success is defined by YOU and how you FEEL about yourself. You can be a successful TODAY and still aspire to achieve more. If you dislike your work, your life and yourself, obviously you are not successful. Being rich is not being successful. Rich is a bank account; wealthy is a life and lifestyle. Here are 6 steps to success in life.

1.  Be at peace. Be at peace with yourself just as you are, warts and all. Plan for the future AND be at peace with yourself every step of the way.

2.  Work at a career, not a job and one that uses all your talents. Even if you are NOT doing what you eventually want to do, do what you are doing with pride as it builds habits and momentum for further successes.

3.  Love. Love God. Love your family. Love people and show it by investing time with them together and individually. Love those who do not love you (hard to do but VERY freeing as they cannot hurt you then). Love the gift of each day.

4.  Forgive. Forgive your spouse, nephew, boss or rude prospect or colleague. It matters not if they ask for it, do it in your heart and you no longer waste energy on negative emotions.

5. Work smarter. After every day, ask yourself, `What 3 things did I learn today?` and use what you learned.

6.  Sleep well. Ben Franklin`s `Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.` was no joke. Turn off the TV earlier, write your plan and To-Do list for the next day, talk to your spouse and God and get a good nights sleep.

Smile Maker : As a Roman Catholic, I thought this was a funny story about two priests on holiday.

Two priests take a holiday in Hawaii. They bought Hawaiian shirts, shorts and sunglasses so no one on the beach would suspect they were clergy…they just wanted to relax for 2 weeks.

While sitting on the beach, a beautiful blond woman with sunglasses passes them and says, `Hello father. Hello father.` and walks on. They were shocked. How could she tell they were priests?

They went and bought more outrageous outfits the next day. The same beautiful woman passes again and greets them both again as `father`.

The one priest could not take it any more. He shouted after her, `Young lady. How in the world did you know we were priests?`

The young lady turned around and removed her sunglasses, `It`s me, father. Sister Helen!`
