Selling More… Including Yourself… 8 Secrets of ’sales’.

As I came from a sales background, I’m often asked to conduct programmes in sales, marketing and motivation. It dawned upon me recently, EVERYONE needs to be good at selling, even if it is just selling yourself for an increment, promotion, new job or one of your ideas to the boss. Here are 8 ways to sell yourself better starting today.

1) Be consistent. Show up on time. Deliver what you promise.

2) Smile. So simple yet look around you… so often forgotten.

3) Be neat. Neat hair, make-up, clothes (no spots), up-to-date shoes, materials you show / present… neat.

4) Listen to people. Not to counter their thoughts but to understand.

5) Care. Care about EVERYONE. I did not say you had to like them or like what they do, just care.

6) Encourage. I’ve been guilty of nit-picking. Better to encourage behaviour to change it than to nit-pick the faults.

7) Enjoy what you do, what you sell and you will be more successful. This is as much and attitude as it is achoice.

Pray. Pray for help, guidance, wisdom, peace, success and love.

Not too tough but an ‘easy eight’.

SMILE MAKER: A man or a mouse?

Two men chatting:

1st man: At home, are you a man or a mouse?

2nd man: I’m a man!

1st man: How do you know?

2nd man: My wife is afraid of mice.
